Every year, I never know what to get my Dad for Christmas. On a visit last May, I noticed that he had taken down his house numbers when he replaced his vinyl siding the year before. I asked him if he was going to put his numbers back up. He thought probably he wouldn’t, since they weren’t very pretty and he didn’t want to punch a bunch of holes in his brand new siding. I made a mental note of it and came up with a mosaic house number plaque for him. He might still have to drill a hole or two, but at least it’s pretty enough to warrant doing so.
I was going through some of my older pieces and found this one. I remember that I didn’t care for it when I finished it in 2010, but I must have liked it well enough to keep it. More often than not, I’ll pitch a ‘reject’ if it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. I’m glad I didn’t. It deserves a frame!

Alright. I’ve been neglecting my blog. For some reason, posting images is more difficult than it should be. Not sure if I can blame my age, memory or lack of practice. Most likely it is a combination of all three. … Continue reading
The ‘word of the month’ for our critique group’s ongoing character studies is ‘Puzzled.’ This poor cow is having a bad day. First she spilled her milk, now she’s missing more than a few puzzled pieces! Hope she doesn’t have another tantrum.
What should her name be?
Tantrum….’Having a Cow’
Sometimes I get a better idea after I’ve already finished of a piece of artwork! This was the case for ‘Tantrum.’ The little girl pulling her hair out (Posted Nov 20, 2012 ) was most likely how I felt on that particular day. But, a better visual would be a cow having a tantrum, thus:
‘Tantrum, part 2…Having a Cow.’
